Question MarkWhat makes the Fifth Third Bank DUO CardSM different?

It's the first card to offer you two different ways to manage your money. As a debit card, it gives you financial control over your everyday spending. And as a credit card, it gives you the flexibility to make larger purchases and pay for them over time.

Question MarkHow do I make a debit card purchase?

Just swipe your card, press "debit" and enter your PIN to make a purchase or withdraw cash at the ATM. Since it's a debit transaction, the money comes directly from your Fifth Third checking account.

Question MarkHow do I make a credit card purchase?

Simply swipe your card and press "credit" and sign when you make a purchase or make purchases online or over the phone. Your card works just like a regular credit card, charging your purchase against your built-in line of credit.

Question MarkCan I earn rewards for my purchases?

You sure can! Simply be sure you don't enter a PIN. Just press "credit" instead of "debit" at the keypad. Online and phone purchases earn rewards too. You'll earn 2 Reward points for every $1 spent on the everyday purchases already in your monthly budget like gas, grocery, and purchases at discount stores - and 1 point for every $1 spent on all other purchases.1

And, you can redeem your points for Real Life RewardsSM like a night out at the movies, taking the family out to eat, or the satisfaction of using points to pay down a Fifth Third loan.

1 Everyday Spend Bonus Points will show up on your monthly statement. Eligible purchases will be determined by merchant identified MCC code. MCC codes eligible for double points on gas are 5541 and 5542, grocery is 5411 and discount store is 5310. Fifth Third Bank does not determine whether merchants correctly identify and bill transactions as being made at gas stations, grocery stores, or discount stores. Purchases are defined as the dollar value of goods and services purchased with the Card, minus any credits, returns or other adjustments as reflected on the monthly statements. Purchases do not include annual fees, late payment fees, over-limit fees, insurance charges, card-related service charges, Finance Charges, or other fees and/or unauthorized charges. Purchases also do not include Cash Advances, PIN-based transactions, Ready Reserve transactions, balance transfers, Convenience Checks, person-to-person money transfers, quasi-cash transactions (including the purchase of traveler's checks, foreign currency, or money orders), truck stop transactions, gaming transactions or currency purchases.

Question MarkIs my money secure?

It sure is! If you lose your card, purchases and cash withdrawals can't be debited against your bank account without a PIN. And your credit purchases are protected by MasterCard® Zero Liability. So you're never responsible for unauthorized purchases, even online.2

2 Under MasterCard's zero liability policy, you will have no liability for unauthorized purchases made using your Card and Account provided the following preconditions are met: (a) your Account is in good standing, (b) you have exercised reasonable care in safeguarding your Card from any unauthorized use (unauthorized use means that you did not provide, directly, by implication or otherwise, the right to use your Card and you received no benefit from the unauthorized purchase); and (c) you have not reported two or more unauthorized events in the past 12 months. MasterCard's zero liability policy does not apply if a PIN for a debit transaction is used for the unauthorized purchase and does not apply to MasterCard-branded cards issued for commercial, business or agricultural purposes, except for MasterCard commercial cards used for small businesses as listed on www.mastercardbusiness.com. MasterCard's policies are subject to change. Visit MasterCards's zero liability link at www.mastercard.com/zeroliability.
